What does KindaOkay do?
KindaOkay is a food analysis app that scans barcodes and provides goal-based evaluations. You select a goal (e.g., "Clear Skin", "Less Bloating", "General Health"), scan a product, and see what supports or works against that goal. All results are explained in plain language—no mystery scores, no judgment.
Is this medical or dietary advice?
No. KindaOkay is NOT medical advice, and it does NOT diagnose, treat, or cure any health condition. The app provides informational summaries based on publicly available food data and rule-based scoring. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical or dietary advice tailored to your situation.
Where does food data come from?
Product information comes from public databases like OpenFoodFacts, USDA FoodData Central, DTU Food, and Public Health Agency of Canada. These databases are maintained by third parties and may contain incomplete, outdated, or incorrect information. KindaOkay does not modify the source data.
Why is a product sometimes not found?
Not all products are in public food databases. This is especially common for regional products, newly launched items, or products from smaller brands. If a product isn't found, the app tells you honestly—we never guess or fabricate results. You can try scanning again or check if the barcode is readable.
How does the free trial work?
KindaOkay offers a free trial period when you first sign up (length varies by subscription plan). After the trial, your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel. You can manage your subscription through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel:
- iOS: Open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > KindaOkay > Cancel Subscription
- Android: Open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > KindaOkay > Cancel Subscription
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then.
Where is my data stored?
Your account data (email, goals, scan history) is stored securely in our EU-hosted database (Supabase). We use industry-standard encryption and access controls. For details, see our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data anytime from within the app.
